Plans approved for new homes, a care home and community hall for Sandbach

Outline planning approval has been granted by Cheshire East Council for 160 new homes, 30% of which will be affordable on land off Crewe Road in Sandbach, Cheshire. 

The plans also include a 70-bed care home to meet local need located on the 44 acre site. In addition, the scheme will feature a new community hall that will provide the famous Foden’s Brass Band with a permanent home. The building will include dedicated rehearsal and performance space, flexible meeting rooms for local clubs and community activities, and its own car parking.

Alongside the housing, the proposals include a 30-acre landscaped park with a circular walking and running route, offering local residents additional public open space for leisure activities. 

The site sits between Sandbach town centre and Wheelock, on the edge of open countryside, and benefits from easy access to public transport and the Wheelock Rail Trail – an off-road walking and cycling route connecting Ettiley Heath and Malkins Bank.

Wain Estates will now openly market the site to housing developers who will bring forward a detailed planning application.
